Malibu Racing has really been on it's toes now as it heads into the first week of July. We are happy to get to talking about our racehorses.
We start with our Juveniles...
Call of Duty: This colt is just one win away from Grade Four. He has been stellar this year. He has always been known as the little engine that could. Still look for him to prosper even more as the season continues. He's a strong baby.
Catastrophic: Yes she only has one win this year, but this girl hasn't been out of the money in any of her races. 5 of her 9 starts have been 3rd place finishes. She's still growing and maturing. She will progress and I believe she will hit the HOTY races her Classic season next year.
Regal Rose: Again another filly who was looking so promising and has now caught herself into a bit of a slump. She has 5 2nd place finishes out of 9 starts. She is still a killer racehorse. She has alot of maturing to do, but she has been a strong runner and always keeps on her toes. More wins should be in the future.
Road Hog: I have been on the fence about selling this boy off or keeping him or leasing him out for the rest of the season. He has to be one of the best gate breakers I have out of my juveniles. My plans for him are up in the air, but he is a great horse.
Shuttershock: I love this colt. He has been lightly raced and does have a win under his belt so far this season. I look for him to excel next year.
Now, on to my Classic runners...
Bulletproof: This filly has yet to take the track, but she threw a killer performance in her workout. She is incredibly strong and a little bit demanding too. She will be one of my stronger runners.
Celestia: I have been tempted on putting this girl into some HOTY races. Let her stretch her legs some more. May wake her up a bit. She has been one of my stronger runners this season.
Ground Zero: Zero has had a pretty good season this year. I had heard rumors around the barn that he would also be retired the end of this season to stand stud next year. Those rumors are false. He will be running one more full season.
Last but not least, my Seniors...
Beyond The Stars: At the beginning of the season I didn't know what the future with Star was going to hold. She has been lightly raced as I am just trying to get her back into her groove since she was sidelined her 3 year old season. She has been doing great these past few months. She has 3 wins on the season. I plan on running her more this fall and winter and run her consistently as a 5 year old next year, which will be her final season.
Girl Talk: Just a few wins from Grade One, Gina hasn't really been her best with me. She's still learning the ropes of my training techniques. I know she will come around.
Palisades Pirate: I love Pie! Again just a few wins from Grade One. Will he make it by the end of the season when he retires? Oh I know he will. He has had a stellar season. One of my favorite horses in the barn.
Radiation Therapy: This stallion will most likely be my first ever Grade One racehorse. He's just two wins off. Two Wins!!!! I am beyond happy that Ripley gave me the chance to bring this boy into my barn. He will be going to stud next season along with Pie. Just saying...wink wink...keep em on your list. Very impressed with this horse.
